Unfortunately, what does one do when per-instance information is
required?  The following cannot possibly be acceptable to anyone:

#pragma this-means-really-const
const i;
#pragma this-means-interface-const
const j;
...

'pragma' as a replacement for language-integrated type information
would be the supreme sacrifice in this case.
