I would be the last person in the world to regard non-GUI software as a ghetto, having spent the last year or so developing numerical and simulation libraries in C++. But as far as C or C++ on the GUI side, I think you'll find that that already accounts for a very small percentage of GUI development, it's small compared to Visual Basic or products like Power Builder and Oracle Forms, and to a lessor but growing extent, JAVA. [End Bait] I would certainly like to see a standard specification for a cross platform C++ GUI library, as has been suggested in other threads in comp.std.c++.
