Agree.

But we are talking about a revised language standard. That would 
surely break all binary compatibility.

I personally don't see any benefits from the change, I just argue that 
it can be done. Andrei convinced me that the change will not 
negatively affect my code, so if others believe it's an improvement, 
that's fine with me.

There will be some costs, for sure. But as long at the cost is not 
that my old code suddenly runs slower, I don't mind if the language 
change is accepted. My vote is - abstain.
